- Driving Range Tee Enhancement
Driving range tee deck is in need of major repairs. The current tee deck system is 10 years old. This project would give the driving range an overall face-lift, as it is one of the weakest areas in the golfer experience at Wintergreen. The project would include a new hitting surface that is low maintenance, new range balls, smaller 3-4 foot fencing around the perimeter of the landing area to minimize lost range balls. Golf instruction area that is separate from main hitting tee
2. Apron / Collar / Tee Deck Resurfacing
The #1 apron has several low spots on it that collect water and ice throughout the winter causing ice damage in the spring. This project could be part of a five-year preventative maintenance plan to several aprons on the course. The resurfacing process removes old poa infested turf that is extremely susceptible to cold weather and ice damage and replacing it with a pure stand of hardier Blue Grass that will ensure better early season playing conditions.
3. Sand/Seed Divot Bottles
This proposal is supported by the Wintergreen Society Greens committee.
Mounting sand/seed bottles on all Wintergreen walking rickshaws to be used for filling and repairing fairway divots.
4. Lighting/Rain Shelter #12, #13 and #16 intersection
This proposal is supported by the Wintergreen Society Greens committee.
Project would consist of building a shelter on the far SE corner of the property for golfer protection from lighting/hail and rain. This structure can also be used for another F&B outlet on the property. This would limit travel time with current beverage cart.
6. Greens Resurfacing Plan
Only to be used if greens receive major winter damage that will not recover in time to ensure adequate playing conditions in an allowable time frame.
7. Control Panel Retrofit (VFD) Pump House
Converting current irrigation pump station motors to variable frequency drive. This will result in less power consumption and wear and tear on pumps from hard starts and stops. Pumps would be sleeved and a new filter strainer system would be installed to prevent algae and debris getting into system plugging irrigation heads and valves. Current irrigation pump station is not reliable at this time.
